Re: “CONUNDRUM: Ender's Game Looks Like It's Going to Be Awesome! The Dude Who Wrote Ender's Game Is a Creepy Bigot!

Seriously? You don't even give a shit that Card and this movie endorses conscription of child soldiers, a huge problem the world over? You'd rather whine and bitch about his homophobia, a stance that doesn't show up in the book or the movie at all, ever?

Re: “This is How Marvel Starts Their Own Television Network

Geek out much?

Given the success of shows like Smallville and Buffy, I could see Daredevil as a TV show working out quite well, and I fully support it. They should do this with Spider-man and X-Men too. A lot of the recent teenage dramas have paved the way for them.

But let's not lose sight of what's reply important - making Silver Surfer work.

Re: “The Sanest Arguments Against Fluoride...

How on earth does one interpret numbers on the order of a 50% tooth decay rate as not a dental health crisis?

Also, I'm glad I won't see any more stupid comments from l_dingleberry.

Re: “Michelle Shocked Protested Outside Her Cancelled Concert at the Alberta Rose Last Night

"So what's your deal?" one woman asked."

"Shocked responded by blowing her noisemaker."

This sums up the whole thing.

Re: “Portland As Fuck

"I don't think its something that can be taken sarcastically..." means that what follows can be taken completely literally. The writer cannot fall back on any claim of sarcasm when people figure out that he's being a douchebag, like the writer of the original article did.

"and to blame others for being offended by their inability to rise to the level of society so many share is offensive to me."

Basically he thinks it's perfectly fine to be offended by the existence of homeless people. If you are offended that someone might be offended by homelessness, he is offended by *that*. Basically, he wants to be part of a big giant circle jerk of offense. And he's completely sincere about that, as he previously disavowed any use of sarcasm.

Re: “The I, Anonymous Blog Quote o' the Day!

Are we still using Blogtown to advertise for the stupider columns?

Re: “The City Club STILL Likes Fluoride

It's amazing how the fluoride debate has the power to turn otherwise smart sympathetic liberals into raving mad conservative libertarians with a complete lack of sympathy or solidarity or trust in science.
