Have seen these guys in Vancouver a number of times. Paul Pigat fronts the band and just toured as Jakob Dylan's guitarist this past month.
Here's what they're all about, for you, the gentle reader:
Paul Pigat, the frontman of Vancouver’s Cousin Harley epitomizes the term “virtuoso,” a word that seems too often thrown about. But this genuine guitar virtuoso is bringing his three-piece roots-rockabilly band on a ride south from Vancouver, Canada.
This hard touring group have already graced several stages in Europe and Australia and are continuing life on the road after their brief stint to California and back. Together, they are touring in support of their fifth release It’s A Sin on Little Pig Records.
Frontman Paul Pigat received a unique endorsement from Gretsch Guitars in 2009 after being offered a guitar to try during Cousin Harley’s 45-minute showcase at the Viva Las Vegas festival. After a blistering set, Pigat handed the guitar back to the Gretsch rep. who simply asked, ”where would you like me to send it?”
Cousin Harley lay down a mean mix of rockabilly, surf rawk’, Tex-Mex and spaghetti western all punctuated by Pigat’s vocals and stellar guitar work. Joining him are two of the west coast’s finest in upright bass player Keith Picot and drummer Jesse Cahill. Pigat has just returned from the eastern U.S. where he played a number of dates as a sideman for Jakob Dylan, and is ready to light up the stage with Cousin Harley once again.
Much more fun than Facebook...
