I don't make plans, and I don't make breakfast.
I think that's the director, not Kathleen. And Corin Tucker. Which is still cool.
did i seriously just get called a "preppy"? ohh man that insult sure takes me back to 1997.
@Michelle I DID NOT FORGET TO MENTION IT! Though perhaps I should've put it in bold blinky text. Because that part was hilarious.
We chased after that dog, after we saw him run through traffic on Williams! On Friday? He ran under a fence and we lost him. I hope his owners found him :(
::SPOILER. DON'T READ IF YOU CARE::
@CaptainColonel, interesting that you say that: After Foxfinder, I almost did a post about whether or not live theater should post "trigger warnings" on shows with scenes of sexual violence. I mean, they do it when a gun is fired, right?
Argument against posting a warning: Telling the audience there's a rape scene in a show reveals crucial information about the plot (same goes for when a gun is fired, for that matter). Are we going to make shows give away every plot point so the audiences can make sure they're not going to be uncomfortable?
Argument for: There are *a lot* of women (men too) who have a really hard time with scenes like that, and rape scenes are particularly intense when they're live. Statistically, a not insignificant percentage of your audience has been raped or sexually assaulted. Protecting grown-ass theatergoers from "spoilers" is not sufficient justification for ambushing rape survivors with a live re-enactment of their trauma.
Make that information available, but don't post it in the lobby. Bundle all that information (gunfire, strobe lights, sexual violence, whatever) into one flyer, available on the website and in the lobby by request. Does that make sense?
re: your comment, Todd, thank you for your input, but a better title actually would be "Oh Crap Alison Forgot to Find a Tweet This Week But Didn't Erik Say Something Funny About Ender's Game?"
Also, I'm sorry the apparent bias troubles you, but that was an excellent tweet.
I would like to take this opportunity to tender my resignation.
