I loved the vibe here and really wish East Side Delicatessen well. However, the bread is a real drawback and will probably keep me from going there again soon. The bread is tough and you get a lot of it, and it overpowers the sandwich. What a good deli sandwich needs is soft bread that mixes with your sandwich fixin's to create a melded taste. What I had today at ESD was a bunch of separate ingredients that didn't really mesh, and a whole lot of tough bread. With new bread, this place would be a winner. And as good as Dave's Killer Bread is, I can have that at home. I'd much prefer a good, soft, compatible deli roll! Thanks.
