Totally agree with the above statement. I couldn't believe that it was true when I saw the announcement of the concert.
The sound and lighting was horrible for Elvis. The sun was coming in through the back of the ampitheater totally blinding concertgoers.
The sound and light were geared for Sting and The Police. We could barely make out Elvis, his music, and his vocals.
On the otherhand, when The Police got up, all the lights went up, was later in the evening. I had to suffer from "da do do do, do da da da" of Sting, benign lyrics. People were definitely reliving their past. These guys haven't done anything together since they broke up.
I would rather see Elvis standalone at say the Roseland, Crystal, or Rose Garden. Saw him at the Schnitz and he was brilliant. That would do again I think. They deserved so much more than having to open for Sting. Hell, Elvis even has a brand new album out right now.
