Re: “Vandals in the Garden

I'm not much of a gardener, but do you think donating seeds, or a gift certificate for Portland Nursery, would be helpful? If yes, is there somewhere I could send them?

Re: “My Oregon Craft Beer Month: Heat Beaters

I just had an awesome Alaskan Kolsch at Saraveza and it rocked my world. New favorite summer refreshing beer. Try it out!

Re: “Pedestrian Decoys: Coming to an Intersection Near You!

Infoart (and all), you can request police traffic enforcement actions by calling 503-823-SAFE. They won't promise to do them but they will evaluate the intersection you propose for an action. Be very specific about the exact intersection, time of day, and problem behavior.

Re: “The Only Non-Biking Portlander

Katy, I'd like to recommend a technique that can be used to teach anyone to ride a bike at any age. It's not at all scary and it helps you get confident with balance and steering before you have to put your feet on the pedals. I've seen a video but can't find it right now, but here's a detailed description of the method: http://ask.metafilter.com/14303/Like-Learn…

I agree with some of the commenters that this technique is improved by removing the pedals entirely at first so your legs can swing as you walk/ride the bike.

Re: “Bike Myths Revealed!

I was at the bike fashion panel, and I'm pretty sure Bricker would have been wearing a full set of lightweight wool shorts and a sleeveless undershirt. Available from Rivendell Bicycles. Never gets stinky!

Re: “Mayors In Perspective

I have read that Velo City is paying for him to attend. I don't know the details so I don't know exactly what that covers.
