I used to LOVE this place. It's a short walk from my house, (the 50th and division one), and the burritos were a) cheap, b) to die for, and c) (and more than anything else) that red/orange garlicy salsa is to DIE for.
Since then, the prices have gone up a couple of times, they've been out of said salsa - and didn't tell me until after they made my burrito; and twice in a row (the last two times I've ordered anything with meat from there) the chicken burritos came complete with... big chunks of chicken bones hidden inside!
I used to love you gorditos. I still get your bean and cheese burritos, and hope you'll have some bright orange garlic salsa for me...
but if you're brick and mortar charges even more than the latest price increases, and includes bones and lack of my favorite salsa; we're through.
On a side note, if you decide to start selling jars of that salsa, call me!
philly nostalgia p.s.: my dad has photo's of my grandfather helping build the vet!
Grants is the most authentic philly in portland. Don't worry about the yuengling, it's a nostalgic philly brand (and americas oldest brewery), but it doesn't hold a flame to the stuff we've got out here.
would have been funny if you said "steak it out" instead of "seek it out"
Yes, amoroso rolls are rare outside of philly. It's a nice gesture, but it's hard to determine which is better: fresh non-amoroso rolls, or shipped real ones.
While you can't be here and experience watching a philly world series game like you would in philly, there are plenty of ex-pats to enjoy it with. And the beer's better.
Is it weird to want to know how many awards went to portland and how many went to seattle?
ujfoyt: they're not losing money on parking spaces when they replace free parking with bike corrals, like they have in all the places I can think of that bike corrals have been installed (admittedly, I don't often cross the bridge from the east side).
I own a business in south east portland, and have just requested a bike corral in front of my place because the two privately installed racks that are currently on my sidewalk can't accommodate everyone that rides to my area - which frequently results in bikes locked to trees, street signs, and chain link fence in the area.
A good number of my customers ride their bikes to my non-bike oriented business. I ride 7.2 miles round trip on my bike every day I work (with the exception of once or twice a month trips with too much inventory to carry reasonably in a trip or two on my bike). Portland likes to bike; bike corrals make good sense.
no, she's probably pregnant. If you watch the video link that was posted above, you'll see a girl proudly exclaim she's 6 month pregnant before taking a drag. It's this kind of behavior that pretty much guarantees a future (de)generation of juggalos. Starting em off on the right foot.
yep, they're shopping next door at rock n' rose right now
Dreaming of the regular old green turtles.
