Went into this bar with a few girlfriends of mine not expecting too much on this strip of MlK after moving my boy boy into his new place 2 blocks away. Walking into it i was surprised at how much the crowd resembled the portland of 5 years ago. Good looking friendly people who all smiled at you when you walked in the door. 4 seats at the bar open for us, the pool table was being played steadily, the Dj who i found out is resident(awesome) was playing really chill music untill it got packed (a steady flow of regulars i guess?) then it got dancy. After a drink we found it easy to mingle all around, the drinks were ok, but at the price i could see why my man moved up here. Downtown has gotten really nonsense, i see old men at the tube(one of my favs) during the weeknights drinking hamms and i get perplexed, and a little angry. Is portland city grill booked? The town is changing, maybe thats good, just as long as places like chances keep popping up, located In between the new found glitz of the LSE and the coke coughing hipsters at alberta, I'd rather take my chances.
