GREAT FOOD

I will go back all the shit is worth it for the delicious pitas, hummus, and grilled veggies. My boyfriend really liked his lamb shank - huge portions for the price!

<![CDATA[My wife and I like middle eastern and greek type food, and Hoda's is our favorite. Plenty of room, so reservations are not generally needed.

Setting is casual, wait staff is friendly.

Food is quite good at a moderate price, about $8-15 / plate. They have several sampler dinners for two or more people, a good choice for first timers, esp. for those who have not had the pleasure of eating good Lebanese before.

Wine and beer are served here, but this is a restaurant first, not a bar. I would have no problem bringing children.

Portions are ample, the food is good, prices are reasonable, service is good.

Give Hoda's a try, a great place to have your first middle eastern meal, and you will want to come back.

I'm taking my wife there tonight, when she gets home from work.

<![CDATA[I don't get the negative reviews either. It's the best Greek/Lebanese food I've had in Portland. The servers are hot too, not that that matters. Ignore the shitty reviews.

<![CDATA[The kafta kabob was overcooked and tasted like a Sweedish meatball (that is saying too much, the meatball has more flavor) and the boneless chicken kabob was dry and bland. Possibly the worst Middle Eastern food I have ever had. I have had better service at Mc Donald's.

<![CDATA[I fucking love Hodas. I've been going there for years and never had a bad moment. It was the first place I went to when I came back from a year in Hawaii (where there is NO Mid-east style food at all). Waitresses seem to cycle in and out but the food remains wonderful. I am a food snob of the highest order and I give Hodas a 5 star!

<![CDATA[I'm not sure what the previous reviewer was upset about - I've never had too wait long for a table at Hoda's, and once seated, I've always enjoyed excellent service. The bread comes out fast and often. The only sucky thing was deciding what I wanted from the huge menu, which is fantastic for folks who don't eat meat. And, oh, the hummus...I love this hummus.

<![CDATA[I always hear people bitch about Hoda's being gross, but I've been there plenty of times in the past four years, and the food was fine to me (I love Lebanese food to a default, though). What's actually terrible about this place is that it seems as though it's always PACKED! And... why? The food is fine, sure, but it's nothing to write home about. It's terrible that places like La Villa (THEE fucking best Lebanese restaurant in Portland) closed down while places like Hoda's and Nikolas' continue to have mediocre food that people flock to like flies on shit.
