I saw both productions last night and enjoyed them equally as well. The acting in "Breaching" was good, with both actors doing a fine job with the material. Anyone who didn't like Breaching is an idiot. Pure and simple! It's a thinker - perhaps you people are not. It's deeper than you might imagine - the humor is composed of onion layers. Admittedly some of the acting is green - but it lends to the characters. The humor is perhaps not as obviously funny as Cockroach, but it's a play you could see again and again, noticing the small nuances of cleverness. The set design is fabulous as is the soundtrack, though overly loud in bits. Don't miss it ~ It's totally worth the uncomfortable silences! I enjoyed that the plays contrast each other and create a dialogue. Both deal with two modes of life; optimism vs. pessimism and both look at the realism of depression/suicide from a surrealist point of view.

Breaching is absolutely awful. The one act play is boring and sophomoric. Conceptually, the one act play is ultra weak and reeks of something stoned frat boys would write and self indulgently produce. It's not funny, the acting is like that seen from a junior high production. It's not even clever. A Suicide not from a Cockroach is brilliant on the other hand. The acrobats, the writing, the acting, and the music are all top notch. 7:30 is a great time to walk in. Don’t miss Suicide. However, I would not ask anyone to sit through Breaching; it’s one of the very worst stage productions I’ve ever had to sit through.

Go to the Imago! Affordable theater, local artists, why not? The dialogue in Breaching is brilliant, interesting, dark, and funny. The set is beautiful and the sound is perfectly crafted, like you're actually in the belly of a freakin' whale with them! And A Suicide Note from a Cockroach is eye candy. The band is great and the actors are super talented and hilarious.

Highly Recommend watching BOTH plays!

To the first post I just want to say that I am a bit confused by your review, simply because it doesn't tell me anything as to why one would not like the first play. All I gather from the review is that is was not to your personal liking.

I would also like to say that I saw both plays and I very much agree with the second post.

The two different styles make it a very enjoyable evening indeed. They are both dark comedies, and I was amused during both plays.

I highly recommend both plays, and would advise that Breaching is far more entertaining than getting drunk at the Doug Fir.

I was surprised by the first post. I found Breaching to be a good play. Admittedly, A Suicide Note... had more entertainment value with its circus-based movement, but I felt that Breaching had more dramatic value with competent actors and an excellent sound design. The stark stylistic differences between the two plays work. I don't want to see similar one-acts in one evening, and I felt that both plays had something to offer. And at $8 a ticket, you can't go wrong with either!

This is a double feature. The second one act play, Suicide Note from a Cockroach is very good. The first one, Breaching is more than awful. Advice? Get tickets early, go have a martini or two at the Doug Fir and stumble on over to Imago at 7:45 when Suicide starts. It's unfortunate that these two plays have to be together - the first could really turn one off Imago for a lifetime.

My husband and I went to see ZooZoo on Sunday. We paid $28 a ticket and feel ripped off! ZooZoo is nowhere near as cool as I remember Frogz being.

The production was comprised of many different slow and self-indulgent short skits (without words) of performers dressed as animals or strange creatures.

In three shows the animals go up into the audience for what seemed like forever and tried to arouse laughter by continuing the same behavior over and over.

The story lines of the shows were not creative or made sense. The actions of the characters kept repeating in slow-motion. For example in one scene, the frogs all turned to stare at each other but this dragged on for minutes.

It would have been so much more fun if you could see the 'secret lives' of these animals. Perhaps the frogs could have been sitting down for a dinner of live flies? The stories were boring and lasted much too long.

The costumes in some instances just kept reminding me that there were people underneath. My husband said that one of the frog's face was obvious through the whole skit and it was distracting.

This is a very college-like production and I wouldn't have paid $10 much less $28.

The children seem to have enjoyed it but we surely did not.
