I grew up in Portland, and I remember when the snotty service thing was a trend/epidemic here, but I thought we were moving in a different direction these days. Gravy, however, upholds the outdated and gauche tradition of treating customers like they have intruded on the staff's social hour. This would be almost acceptable if Gravy was a) something special food-wise and/or b) in a neighborhood with an established reputation for snark. However, the food is only a few meager clicks above so-so, and there are plenty of places in the neighborhood to get friendly, competent service.
