<![CDATA[Okay, the first time I went here it was quite good. But the second time I had it was a huge MISS! I was ripped off when my $16 dollar plate arrived WELL over an hour after I ordered it, cold as can be, tasting mediocre, and the size of a baseball. Oh, and they were all out of beer that night. No beer at all. Geez! GOOD RIDDANCE!!

<![CDATA[Local, fresh ingredients. Interesting menu (great mix of classic French and Italian dishes with some more esoteric stuff mixed in there - loved that Quail Wing butter.) Good execution. Cute space. Nice folks. What's not to like? This might be one of the most underrated restaurants in Portland.

<![CDATA[The feel of l'astra is a bit like eating "in your parent's friends' basement" to paraphrase a friend I took there, but the food is absolutely divine. How they crank out such elegant and tasty meals I cannot understand, but I always look forward to eating here. The menu is so varied and contingent on seasonal ingredients, you can be sure it'll always taste fresh. Plus they probably don't have a lot of room for storage.

<![CDATA[I went here with a group one night under slight protest as I wanted to eat at the bar where we'd been drinking and I wasn't sure they had any vegetarian options. What a surprise! Everyone ordered something different and we all shared. There were a number of dishes I could eat and everything I tried was super-good. I don't know how they do it with only 2 people working there but I'll say it again. Wow! I'm a bit worried about their future with the demise of Ozone records but hopefully it won't affect them. Maybe they'll expand!
