This fun and games landmark is a Portland Institution! While some new fangled video type games reach the 20 cent mark, the most fun to be had are with the 10 & 15 cent relics, real "Roll Um" and hotshot vintage type contraptions, not to mention Air Hockey! Prizes are fairly lame. But who can't still enjoy a Super Ball in some way, shape, or form. I agree with above review- THE PLACE HAS THAT " YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE HAD A LOT OF SWEATY FUN HERE" SMELL, as does their small, single aisle movie theaters. CHEAPEST FLICKS this side of Fantasy's! Mostly kids and teens fare- PG is the norm. BUT CHEAP! Unbearably HOT theaters in the SUMMER!!! I lost 12 lbs. watching a 2 hour movie, I would have perished if it had been a GRINDHOUSE double feature!
GOT KID(S)???-Best bang for the buck is here!- Bar None.

*Disclaimer-----If your blind date from Beaverton uses words like: weird, immature, childlike, Man boy?, freaks, losers, cheapskates, and/or trashy......THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO TAKE HIM or HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*Endorsement-----If your blind date from a SE ART STUDIO WORK/LIVE SPACE uses words like: rad, cool, hapnin, chill, ol skool, awesome, mind blowing, inventive.....YOU WILL GET LAID FOR TAKING HIM or HER TO THE AVALON !!!!!!

If you are too young to get into one of the many adult oriented second run theaters in Portland and you live in inner SE, or you really want to get your game on before or after a flick, then this would be a fine venue to do that. However, if you do happen to be over 21 and dislike the annoying antics of pre and post pubescents, not to mention the stale smell of popcorn and sweat, don't waste your time!
