      <![CDATA[Not the mention the proposed city income tax, adopted too late for your press run by the City Council. Yeah, it's only $35 a year to support arts education, but it IS a city income tax, and taxes can be expanded. Today, $35 fir arts! Tomorrow, $350 for bike paths! This particular camel pushed his nose under the tent with very little debate on the startling precedent of creating a city income tax. --TimB

      <![CDATA[Gosh, it's too bad gay marriage (e.i. marriage) isn't on the ballot for OR this year like it is in WA. Nothing too terribly controversial for us this year. Well, many eyes will be on WA state - here's hoping voters up there don't fuck it up.
