People looking for common sense laws regarding guns and gun rights in America should just call the bluff on armed guards in schools. Just say, "sure, we'll do armed guards in schools."

Most sane people don't see that as a real solution, because it's not even a solution to the problem of idiots getting guns in the first place.

BUT, if Obama, or any political figure agrees to this inane term, they can put a mandate that all armed guards be paid for by taxes on gun sales. That'll shut 'em up real quickly.

I'm not sure what right-wing people are averse to more these days? Gun control or taxes, but the intra-party wrangling from ensuing agreement would be good news for a week.

Interesting. Yeah... the punchy Lars vibe was totally crashing into the event's earnest/serious/passionate tone. But I can see Charlie licking his chops, otherwise, one-on-one, for a duel. (And you all should listen to rangerhunter. Unlike most commenters [and reporters] talking about Charlie, she actually knows what she's talking about.)

Charlie loves arguing with Lars. He thinks it's fun - particularly when they disagree.

He is, however, used to fighting it out one-on-one in the studio or over the phone. Having Lars in the office, among a bunch of other reporters, probably threw him off. Most reporters get Charlie The Polished, and not Sparring Charlie. I imagine that awkward to reconcile.

No - it shows Hale is shooting his mouth off about gun control with very little knowledge of the true facts, or nature of the problem. How in the hell can you contend the current laws aren't working, and call for changes when you *don't even know what they are*?

Larson clubbed him like a baby seal because Hales was being a showboating moron, with no concept of the true problem.
