<![CDATA[This book is a masterful example of what literature can do to shed light on history from the ground up. It is a beautifully written, sensitive treatment of the Pays Basque, and its people. You will fall in love with them and the characters he has created to bring the reader into the reality of the times associated with the Spanish Civil War. It's a book I will read again and again.
