The announcement of X making a stop in Portland has gotten those raised on the band's monumental debut, Los Angeles, frothing and giddy, and for good reason. X were—and are—a perfect storm of Exene Cervenka, John Doe, drummer D.J. Bonebrake, and punk rock guitar wunderkind Billy Zoom, all of whom will be present and accounted for tonight. X has always been brainy and brawny, and if Los Angeles is the obvious go-to for many, records like Wild Gift and More Fun in the New World shouldn't be overlooked.
