At 3 pm on Sunday, May 31, Bastas (410 NW 21st) will be hosting a "Soup Smackdown" to benefit the Youth Progress Association (YPA), which helps young people build job skills. The smackdown will feature three local chefs (Marco Frattaroli of Bastas, Jerry Huisinga of Café/Bar Mingo, and Alex Na of SanSai Japanese Grill) who will battle head-to-head-to-head for local soup supremacy. The tax-deductible ticket is $25, with all proceeds going to YPA.
