To the kind soul who left a care package with basic essentials (Wet Ones, a bit of food, a sleeping bag, and a couple blankets) near a bridge that until recently was sheltering a small group of homeless individuals: Thank you. When the police come while you are away and take your things, I don't even know if they realize that this puts a homeless person in a potentially deadly place, where they have NO source of nighttime warmth. Or maybe it is their own malevolent means of getting the homeless population culled. You didn't even leave a note, or any sort of religious propaganda, which tells me that you truly were being compassionate because you stood to gain NOTHING in your anonymity. So thank you, anonymous, for exhibiting true selfless compassion in a way that made me feel human for the first time in longer than I can remember.—Anonymous
