Dear University of Oregon: Leave the "Made in Oregon" sign alone! It's a historic landmark that is symbolic of the Portland scene. I don't want the first thing I see coming across the bridge to be "University of Oregon." You don't even reside in Portland. This proposal is incredibly stupid and egocentric. If you really want a giant sign in Portland, then put one up yourself, but the Made in Oregon sign is a piece of Portland, and changing it to meet your ego is incredibly rude and inconsiderate of history. Don't get me wrong, I understand that changing the title is also historic, but to name it after your own school and ignore the true character of Portland and what it actually means to Portland is like pissing on Portland itself.—Anonymous
