Food has become disappointing in Portland. There are many foodies and culinary artists here increasing the hype, but that doesn't mean it's good or worth it. The average food cart entrée is about $7. A slice of pizza for $4. A sausage for $5. A sandwich for $9. What's in these recipes? Magic ingredients that're going to make me live long and prosper? What's more, the quality of the food doesn't taste so magical, and the portion size is more and more stingy. Food places are jacking up the prices without giving us a chance at leftovers—and I'm not even considering the cool hot spots where people are waiting in line to eat. The government, bills, rent, daily living, and inflation are fucking us all, all the time. Just let me have food. Please.—Anonymous
