NOTE FROM MERCURY FILM EDITOR ERIK HENRIKSEN: In last year's Mercury Online Charity Auction, one of the items we auctioned off was the opportunity to write this very column for a week. Little did I know that lurking in the shadows of eBay was my dad, Phil Henriksen, who would bid on—and win—the column, much to the great delight of my boss, Wm. Steven Humphrey. Humphrey declared that instead of recommending "Mercury Video Picks," my dad could do whatever he damn well pleased with the space. So I gave my dad a word count of 275 words, and then waited 11 and a half months for his brilliant submission to roll in. When it finally did, it came in an email that declared, "This is FRONT PAGE STUFF." Indeed.
