Jerry Iverson, Kay French, & Jay Steensma

When: Tuesdays-Saturdays, 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Continues through Feb. 28 2009
Phone: 228-6665
A group show featuring three artists whose work feels firmly grounded in the physical world. Jerry Iverson layers tissue paper and rabbit skin glue to gessoed panels, creating layered compositions that evoke the great modernist Franz Kline. Kay French paints precise, highly detailed studies of "disregarded plants" (AKA weeds). The late Jay Steensma , whose drawings on canvas seek to simplify themes of environment, religion, and landscape, has several of his signature works in the permanent collection at institutions throughout the Northwest.
