Chester, the affable and much-loved proprietor of the Milwaukie Market (4401 SE Milwaukie) in the Brooklyn neighborhood, had a blank look on his face when I asked him where he likes to eat out. Then I modified the question: where do you like to eat Korean food? His eyes lit up, and he produced a thick volume of Korean businesses, pointing out an ad for New Seoul Garden, at 8635 Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway, in Beaverton. Chester recommends their fried rice dishes and the tabletop barbecue. As we were discussing this, a haggard man approached the counter to buy gum, and he chimed in with his favorite eatery--The Outback Steakhouse. Naturally, Chester and I took him to the back room and beat him.
