Each of the paintings in Flying at Night corresponds to a poem in Poet Laureate Ted Kooser's book of the same name. The pieces mix traditional methods with collage and text. They depict images of rural life, and explore the themes of purpose, work, and mortality. Nakell is as excited to share her work as she is to highlight the transformation of ideas from words to visual art, and the poetry of Kooser. First Thursday opening reception July 2nd, 6-8 pm.
