Meteor Shower Watch

When: Mon., Aug. 11, 9 p.m. 2008
Price: free
Greetings, fellow stargazers! What celebration of the divine cosmos awaits us tonight? Why, it's OMSI's Perseid Meteor Shower Watch, an annual stargazing party where a meteor flashes across the sky each minute or so. Meteors are naturally occurring phenomena that happen whenever an angel falls from heaven (usually because of swearing, or dirty fingernails; angels have standards, you know). If you catch an angel, parking is free—forever! ASTRONOMY GUY
