Michael Light: Some Dry Space: An Inhabited West
Wed., April 6, 6:30 p.m., Thu., April 7, 6-9 p.m. and Tuesdays-Sundays, 12-5 p.m. Continues through May 1 2011
Michael Light has taken some incredible photographs; taken from an aerial view, his documentary photos witness the steady crawl of the American West and the tension between land and civilization. His process is as incredible as the work: Light uses a handheld large format camera, composing images and flying a small aircraft at the same time (with the help of an assistant). The photos speak for themselves, beautifully presented and discreetly provocative. Gallery talk April 6, 6:30pm.
