After last year's absolutely stellar lineup of films, Jackpot Records has its work cut out for itself with this year's film festival. Year number four finds the store's staff curating another year of fine music-related films. All films are free and all ages; hit jackpotrecords.com for more info, and Movie Times on pg. 47 for showtimes.

The fest kicks off with The Punk Rebellion, a roundtable discussion that aired in 1984 on a Portland community TV show. Featuring an audience of influential Portland punk legends (Rancid Vat, Arctic Sun), the discussion tackles the hysterics of punk's early days. Follow that off with Dead Kennedys—Live November 19, 1979, Earth Tavern, Portland, Oregon.

Tuesday's Old School Rap Music Videos 1982-1988 might just be the single greatest idea ever: Classics from De La Soul, Roxanne Shanté, and Fat Boys will leave your Kangol bucket hat spinning with delight. Immediately after that, check out the footage from a 1965 Dutch show, The Stax Volt Revue 1965. There's good reason this video has been bootlegged so much—it showcases Otis Redding, the Mar-Keys, Eddie Floyd, Sam and Dave, plus a backing band of Booker T. & the MGs. TV and healthcare—that makes two things the Dutch know how to do better than us!

Wednesday starts up with Talking Heads Live 1975, followed by B-52s Live Sept. 2, 1978, Atlanta, Georgia. Glitter Boot Boogie, a mascara-heavy look at glam rock's golden age, closes the evening. Performances by Sweet? Yes. Gary Glitter? Yes. Ridiculous fashion? Oh, hell yes!

Thursday's Psyche/Garage Night, with 100-plus minutes of "mind-melting performances." (If you ask me, 100-plus minutes is a whole lot of time to have your mind melted.) But your brain can recover on Friday—sit back and remember last year's Jackpot Film Fest while watching Jandek Represents—April 20, 2006. Everyone's favorite wacky shut-in made the rarest of appearances last year, and it was all captured on tape.
