MUSIC--Bobby Conn's music is a fantastic good time--dramatic piano-playing, violin, sensationalist singing, guitar that goes from floaty and restrained to simply rawkin'--he's like a fusion of David Bowie, Lou Reed, and Prince. And hey, don't be scared off by And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead's insanely long name, their distressed, gothy rock is like the flavor of snow. I must say, I think this is the show of the week. KS

O.P.P.--Fans of early '90s hiphop are gonna throw their gloves up over tonight's show featuring Naughty by Nature. Best known for creating the most memorable anthem of the era ("Hiphop Hooray"), NxN can still get the party started by posing the eternal question, "Are you down with O.P.P.?" To which I always answer, "Well... You know me." WSH

FILM SCORING--Only an idiot could not love a film scored by a local band. Electro-acoustic folkers Mome Raths score a flick by cutely pretentious duo Ovid. Also showing is a film called The Beaverton Ruins scored by the Ben Klein Express, which shows how shoddy development construction makes suburbs--like Beaverton--the cesspools of America. No, not really, but I'm into any film that includes Beaverton and Ruin in the same sentence. KS

TRAVELOGUE--It would be awesome if we could all just up and go to France, or Russia, or travel cross-country right now, but because we have so many children and so much credit card debt, we can't. So, we might as well go to this DIY photo show, where some great, amateur photographers show us their travel photos and enchant us with their tales. KD

VIOLENCE--Everyone knows that domestic violence really sucks, but the fact that this show is a benefit for stopping domestic violence isn't the only reason you should go. MUSIC--The Ladybug Transistor is a precious name, but the group makes up for it by pushing the confines of pop music. Oh, please do. With six pieces, their micro-orchestral approach roams from free formed jazz to a folksy pensivity. Don't squish 'em--it's bad luck. KD

MUSIC--What a charmer! With a voice as shy and mournful as midnight in east Texas, crooner Edith Frost is the blushing wallflower to country-western's more rambunctious and obvious yee-hawing chiquitas. A little bit country, a little bit rock n' roll, Frost walks her songs through the revolving door of her love life--plain, simple and undeniably infectious. PB
