Freshly inked to hotshit German label Tomlab, Parenthetical Girls seem a band on the cusp of greatness—or at the very least, an act prepared to go down in an inferno of glorious flames. Frontman Zac Pennington (a former Mercury pencil pusher) & Co. are genuine in their ridiculous ambitions to destroy the pop music stratosphere with orchestrated numbers so grand that their breathtaking aftereffect is akin to being smothered by the one you adore the most. But no safe word is needed here, the Parenthetical Girls will let up when it counts.
