Pho Jasmine is a popular spot in the quickly-changing North Killingsworth area to get some of that Vietnamese noodle soup. Along with the pho, you can enjoy a wide variety of other Vietnamese specialties. Very vegetarian friendly, tofu and wheat gluten/seitan are regular items on the menu.

This is a jewel of a restaruant in a not so inviting area of killingsworth, But certainly worth getting out of your car to try. Their Pho is delicious, and all the ingredients they serve on the side to add to it are always fresh. Lot's of vegetarian dishes as well. My favorite dish is the Eggplant and Tofu with black bean garlic sauce served with rice on the side.
This restaurant is across the street from PCC Cascade (since when was this an uninviting area?) and is a favorite among students and people who live in North Portland. I highly recommend the lemongrass chicken (or beef) and any of the phos, especially when you have a little cold.
Pho Jasmine used to be my old standby for pho and greasy noodle dishes, but the last THREE times I've been there the service has been abysmal. Last time it took us 15 minutes just to get menus. I've eaten there plenty of times in the past and service has been prompt for both dine in and carry out. But now something has changed and it's lousy. Also their prices went up. Unless you have all kinds of time to sit around waiting for your pho, I do NOT recommend Pho Jasmine.
First, let me say this might be my FAVORITE restaurant in Portland. Pho sho'. Their gluten dishes are to DIE for. I've never had anything but great service and the owner is the sweetest lady in the universe. However, this is a crap corner, regardless of how you wanna look at it. Someone put a bottle through their front window and there are always panhandlers out front, black, white and god-knows. If I had three wishes, one would be to clear up that corner so Pho Jasmine's owner didn't have to deal with the rabble day in and day out, but I don't have a magic wand. Hopefully the power of the Pho will be a shining light that will clean up the neighborhood with sheer deliciousness.
good pho, but great hot pots. i just wish they were open on sunday. that's my hang over day and some hot pho jasmine does the trick.
