just the other night I thought I would try a special they had their "Smoked Catfish and Greens", It was the greatest thing I think I have ever had. The presentation was amazing and the service was timely, I now understand what they mean when it reads; Contemporary Soul food. I would have had to pay $25 for what I ordered anywhere else, but only had to pay $12 and that was including the tip. Compliments to the chef they call "BlackyDred", James Bradley!!!

Their Blackend Catfish is made perfect, its not cooked too dry (like most places), and its not too spicy. And its the closest place to home (New Orleans) that I have found and I have been looking for a long time!!! You all can "Teach Me To Fish"!!

I was referred to check out this new place and realized I had been there before. Was the food ever so different then! It was nothing compared to what I got there today, the Warm Spinach Salad was great. Spread the word... "Po Shines : Cafe de la Soul" is the best soul food restaurant to eat at in all the North West.

The breakfast menu is short but everything is good. The omlettes are filled with vegetables, including tasty greens and fresh mushrooms. You can add bacon or pulled pork or even crawfish. Biscuits are only available on Saturdays right now, which is a shame because they have the best ones that we have found in Portland: they do not skimp on the butter, so they are tender and moist. Service is a bit slow, but there is never a line, so you will still get your food before you would at cup and saucer just a block away. And you will pay less. And eat better.

Hey Tracy, if the food was that good, perhaps you should put your money where your mouth is and actually tip...
