Comics have been a long-ignored form of art in America. Now, with Spider-Man being released and all, more than 2,000 comic book shops have come together with the industry's leading publishers of comic books in order to promote Spider-Man's origins: comics. Book stores all over the country will be giving away free comics, including some lovely stores in Portland. Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, Image Comics, Oni Comics, and Marvel Comics will all be available. Participating stores in Portland will be Things from Another World and Excalibur, who will be distributing, among others, Oni Press's Greg Rucka and Jen Van Meter, authors of Queen & Country #1 and Hopeless Savages #1.
