YU, Portland's recently opened contemporary art center located in the Yale Union building, gathers pieces from the Portland Center for the Visual Arts (PCVA) archive. The work dates back to the 1970s, with artists like Carl Andre, Richard Serra, Vito Acconci, and documents a crucial moment in the birth of Portland's art scene. Opening reception May 6, 6-9pm, including the launch of issue 08/18 of Veneer magazine, and the screening of Richard Serra's Railroad Turnbridge video.
