Set in the 1950s and inspired by a true story, The Ghosts of Celilo returns to the Newmark. The play follows two Native American boys who are kidnapped and forced into a government boarding school. The boys eventually escape and attempt to make it to Celilo Falls, a tribal fishing area, to catch their ceremonial salmon before the Falls are destroyed by the Dalles Dam. The production features Native American and traditional musical theater songs.
