Hours: Vague. From "early afternoon" to "past midnight."

As in: If you're not "in the know," you're not there. Indie art gallery, live music venue, and screening room. They serve bottled beer only but that doesn't deter young hipsters "in the know" from packing the joint.

If the looming lofts and logjam of SUVs make you wonder why you ever pulled up stakes and moved to Portland in the first place, a bar like The Know exists to remind you. The Know is the epitome of a "classic" Portland bar, no frills, cold beer in a can (or a bottle if you're splurging), some pinball, and a bathroom that would scare even the bravest of patrons. It's not the place to enjoy a nice mojito or take your folks when they are visiting, but it's loose-knit charm and friendly faces are exactly what makes neighborhood bars so essential to living in this city. They don't actually serve much food but you are encouraged to get a sandwich from Vepadoes around the corner.
