Hi!

House of Cunt member Amber Martin's one woman show is a song-and-dance riddled multi-character parade of burnt out has-beens from the entertainment industry. Smith sings and hums bizarre original numbers as well as classic covers like Zeppelin's "Communication Breakdown," and along the way exhibits a stage presence of such power that even her costume changes are interesting. It's not the characters or the writing that make this show stand out, but Martin herself. Her ideas border on the clichรฉ and unimaginative, but her control of the stage overwhelms them. It would be enjoyable to watch this woman give a dog worm medicine. MWM Stark Raving, at the Coho Theatre, 2257 NW Raleigh, 232-7072, Fri-Sat 10:30 pm, through Jan 11, $12
