One Week Only

* Happily Ever After
The sporadic improv group The Screaming Mee Mee's presents a show based on wedding announcements from you, the audience. Bring your wedding announcement and the Mee Mee's will predict the future of your romance through improvised song and dance. Before you participate, however, remember this: these days, HALF of all American marriages now end in divorce. Do you really feel brave enough to receive your prediction this cold winter night...? ComedySportz Arena, 1963 NW Kearney Street, 236-8888, Fri 9 pm, $5

The Happy Prince
A new adaptation of Emily Alexander's famous retelling of an Oscar Wilde classic. If you can follow that thread you're on less drugs than we are, which is good because you'll want to put the drugs away anyway and bring the kiddies to this puppet show, which features a little swallow who stops to rest on a statue while flying south for the winter. The statue starts to cry because it can't help the people of its town on its own, so it and the swallow team up to do some good. Hmm. Maybe you SHOULD bring the drugs along. That's a JOKE! A joke? Jeez... Tears of Joy at the Winningstad Theatre, 1111 SW Broadway, 248-0557, Fri 7:30 pm, Sat 11 am, Sun 2 & 4 pm, $10-16

Current Runs

* Faust. Us.
It's always nice when two theater companies can set aside their differences and work together. Frequent Stark Raving contributor Joseph Fisher has written a Faust-inspired comedy specifically for the Theatre Vertigo company, a group of actors who, with the help of newcomers like Darius Pierce and Julie Starbird, are setting the Portland theater scene on fire. Stark Raving, at the CoHo Theatre, 2257 NW Raleigh, 232-7072, Thurs-Sat 8 pm, Sun 7 pm, through Jan 17, $10-18

Jump for Joy!
It has a nauseating title, but Do Jump!'s new holiday show should be jam-packed with cool aerial stunts and funny bits, if their past shows are any indicator, that is. The group scales the ceiling Spiderman-style, does amazing juggling, fools around with wacky multimedia projections and sound effects, and flies majestically through the air on innovative cloth/trapeze concoctions. Do Jump! at the Echo Theatre, 1515 SE 37th, 231-1232, Fri-Sat 7:30 pm, Sun 3 pm, through Jan 4, $15-20

* Bellydance!
Tribal bellydance, booze, and pizza... looks like Christmas is coming a day late this year. The Caravan Daughters at Mississippi Pizza, 3552 N Mississippi, 287-1794, Fri 6 pm, $2
