Current Runs

Looking for Olivia
The third show in La Bodega's four-show, four-month blitzkrieg of Portland theater, Looking for Olivia suffers from just one problem: the cheesy script, about a screenwriter who falls in love with his beautiful neighbor. No matter what stops the cast and crew pull out, they are still fundamentally limited by the writing. However, Paul Angelo and Summer Dawn Arnett make the best of their situation: The two have enough chemistry to make scenes between them almost fun to watch, especially during the dialogue-free make-out scenes. AH Theater! Theatre!, 3430 SE Belmont, Thurs-Sat 8 pm, Sun 4 pm, $12-15

Wicked
Based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maquire, Wicked goes behind-the-scenes of The Wizard of Oz, telling the tale of two witches (one good, one bad) who met during sorcery school. Among the many treats promised by this production are flying monkeys, a giant dragon, and two hundred pounds of dry ice. Keller Auditorium, 222 SW Clay, 222-5538, Tues-Sat 7:30 pm, Sun 1 pm, 6:30 pm; 2 pm show on Thurs Sep 7, $35-74
