Stash and Sense
We've all seen the photos of the 1980s New York subway cars, completely bombed out in graffiti, every square inch of their surface Kryloned by guerilla taggers. But who was the first person to completely cover an entire subway train? Conventional wisdom has it that it was Stash, who is now a major player in New York's urban clothing scene. Japanese artist Sense creates everything from abstract wall drawings to squishy toys. Both Stash and Sense will be at Compound all month, so don't sleep on this one. Compound, 107 NW 5th, through March 31

Terrell James
One of Texas' best abstract painters, Terrell James, returns for her third solo show at Froelick with calligraphic paintings in walnut ink, as well as a site-specific wall drawing. Froelick Gallery, 817 SW 2nd, 222-1142, through March 29
