Vita arrived on the Portland scene a number of years ago as the grown-up sister of the(mostly) vegetarian mainstay the Paradox Palace. They have since parted ways and new owners have taken over either restaurant. However, don't think you can't still get your vegetarian "chicken fried steak", burritos, mushroom stroganoff, corn cakes, etc.. The big, varied menu is relatively unchanged. Your meat-eating friends can still get a free-range, hormone-free burger, a plethora of deserts and to top it all off the patio even has a bocce ball court!
