To say we're lucky to have an amazing outdoor music festival in our backyard is an understatement. That being said, to describe this year’s Pickathon as “a little dusty” would be a gross understatement, and to call the weather we got this year “hot” is anything but hyperbole. But despite the record temps, I got to see Dinosaur Jr. and Dungen on a small, intimate stage in the woods. Was it worth the sweaty underboob and black boogers? 10/10 yes, will go again.

Here’s some wisdom for those who attend next year:

• High tops or boots are a must.

• Pants are definitely not required.

• All white is always a good idea.

• If it’s backless, all the better.

If I had to choose one Pickathon uniform, this would be it: a one-piece swimsuit; cut-offs (preferably Levi’s); boots (preferably Blundstones) for tromping across hay and dirt and hills; bandana for keeping said dirt out of the nose and mouth; hat (preferably Brixton) for blocking the sun; and sunnies of your choosing.
