Apology time: During December's snowpocalypse I completely failed to mention the sublimely awesome Metal Gear Solid downloadable content pack for LittleBigPlanet.

Luckily the developers at Media Molecule just dropped a handful of clever LBP/MGS mashup artwork created within the DLC pack to further promote their game (and presumably make my telling you this in January not as completely irrelevant as I'm worried it might be).

The gist: Media Molecule created an almost entirely new set of artwork, items and costumes specifically so they could then craft a series of LittleBigPlanet levels that retell the epic story of Metal Gear Solid 4 in hyper-adorable fashion.

By downloading the $10 pack you not only gain an hour or two of additional gameplay, you also get access to the tools (read: new Sackboy costumes, new building blocks and new stage art) MM created to craft the Metal Gear Solid levels, in case your artistic medium of choice is confined solely to "games Nex fellates in The Mercury."

If this was a poster for a Hollywood action blockbuster, Snake would be played by Gary Oldman, Meryl would be Scarlett Johansson and whiny-teen-cum-cybernetic-ninja Raiden would be portrayed by the living embodiment of everything awesome and burlap in this world (read: Zombie Steve McQueen):

Again, Raiden overshadows everyone, despite Snake's heroic 'stache:

They included the Beauties too. Here's that bitch Mantis, complete with surprisingly smug marionettes:

And we'll end with the trailer:

Does anyone have any questions before the recess bell?
