I've reviewed Keith Morris's latest book in this week's Mercury, and I'm excited to go to his reading tonight at Disjecta, with Lee Montgomery, editorial director of Tin House Books. The reading starts at 7:30 at the Templeton Building, 230 E Burnside.

In the mean time if you're interested, here's a link to the full interview I did with Morris, in which I attempt to figure out why I like his work so much, despite it being so thoroughly depressing.

He also talked about his relationship with Tin House. "What you get from Tin House is the editors aren’t trying to guess what somebody else may or may not want to read," he says. "And I don’t really think that’s the case with the big publishers—they publish a lot of great books, but I think it’s mostly accidental."

Morris also looks exactly like I pictured him, from reading his writing. Like, totally, 100%.
