Ooligan Press, a student run publishing house based at Portland State, is hosting a weekend-long conference, Write to Publish, starting tomorrow. Publishers, agents, writers and other industry professionals will be on hand offering workshops, forums, and question and answer sessions.

This is a great opportunity for local writers to learn about the publishing process, whether through an agent or by yourself. It's also a chance to meet and talk to industry professionals as well as authors such as Ursula K. Le Guin, Shannon Wheeler, Lilith Saintcrow, and Chuck Palahniuk. Saturday is full of workshops on publishing, with a special emphasis this year on sustainability in publishing, and Sunday is an open house, featuring wares, services, and author talks.

Write to Publish begins tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. and PSU's Smith Memorial Student Union (1825 SW Broadway, Portland, OR 97201). Sunday's open house doors open at 10:00.
