The Portland Timbers face the Vancouver Whitecaps tonight at PGE Park at 7:00 p.m. While it doesn't have perhaps the hatred of Timbers v. Sounders, it's a solid rivalry with mutual respect none-the-less. Apart from desperately needed points in the standings, also at stake is the Cascadia Cup—a trophy conceived by fans of Portland, Vancouver, and Seattle and awarded to the winner of the best of head-to-head matches throughout the regular season. With Seattle currently galavanting in MLS, the Cup is fought over only between the Whitecaps and Timbers. All that will change next season as Vancouver join their expansion brethren Timbers in joining MLS in 2011.

Portland beat Vancouver at home back in April and with the Timbers strong play of late—their gutty U.S. Open Cup penalty kick shootout loss to the Sounders not-with-standing—tonight's game should be a goodie.

It's on all the radios and internets that you have come to expect.
