The ratings for the second episode of Sarah Palin's Alaska bombed out. It lost 40% of its audience from the first episode. Between this and Bristol Palin losing on Dancing with the Stars, maybe the Palin family's hold on television audiences isn't as ironclad as we have been led to believe*. (Although some DwtS viewers are already claiming Bristol was the victim of a liberal conspiracy.)

By comparison, zombie comic book-to-TV-adaptation The Walking Dead drew in 300,000 more viewers for its first episode than Palin's show. It's down just 5% from last week's episode. Maybe this means that this fellow's 2012 presidential bid is looking a little more likely today.

* Also, I bet Palin is fuming today over Barack Obama telling Barbara Walters that he doesn't think about Sarah Palin.
