One more snippet from the auditor's report on city services released yesterday: The number of homeless people in Multnomah County is 50 percent higher today than it was five years ago.

That's especially depressing because we're in the middle of the 10 year plan to end homelessness, which was hoping to eradicate homelessness in the in the county by 2015. According to the stats, the city is doing a pretty good job of getting homeless families into stable housing, but there's a lot more people becoming homeless these days than there were five years ago.
