The Timbers may have come out a bit flat in their MLS debut on Saturday, but that shouldn't stop you from coming out this season to catch a match.

If season tickets were too big of a commitment or simply too rich for your blood, you should know single tickets for all regular-season matches are on sale starting at 7 p.m. tonight. They start at $8 each, which, if you do the math, calculates to less than 9¢ per minute for some genuine, major-league-ball-kicking action. It's an even better deal if they go into injury time!

The 20th Avenue plaza box office at Jeld-Wen Field (still getting used to saying that) will offer tickets from 7-10 p.m. tonight, and I'm told there will be free Papa Murphy's Pizza and Stumptown coffee on site.

And speaking of our corporate overlords, the stadium-nickname movement is in full effect as Timbers fans ponder a loving moniker for Jeld-Wen Field. The best I've heard so far (by far) is "House of Pane," which kicks the crap out of what folks-in-the-know used to call PGE Park — "Piggy."

Still, I get the feeling there's a better nickname out there, and if there is, it almost certainly lives in the mind of a Blogtown commenter. Throw in your ideas (overhead, with two hands and proper technique) and if any are worthy, I'll shamelessly steal them and incorporate them into my posts the rest of the season.

Need inspiration? Venture past the jump to check out the TV ads Jeld-Wen ran during halftime of the opener. Apparently, high-quality doors and windows are best viewed the same way tender moments are — in soft focus.

It appears this ad campaign is from 2008, an innocent time when we all viewed the world through rich, Sepia tones.
