Bike parking that attached to the side of buildings that rises like a Ferris wheel:

Bikes are locked to a rack which spins down to street level when someone pedals a stationary bike at the bottom that's attached to the whole gear system—it's just an idea still, not a real-life deal.

Though it's pretty and creative, I think it's overcomplicated. The good thing about bike parking is it's super cheap and simple to install; the city's blue bike "staple" racks cost only $80 and they work great as long as no one saws through them.
